We’re looking for an experienced Duty Manager to join our team at Stray’s. This is a hands-on role where you’ll be responsible for keeping the team performing at their best, ensuring top-tier customer service, and driving sales through upselling.

Key responsibilities include:
✔ Opening and closing duties
✔ Cash handling & bar logs
✔ Overseeing service and team performance
✔ Creating a welcoming environment for customers

We’ve been serving great coffee, good food, and live jazz in Newark since 2003, and we’re looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

⏰ Availability: Weekdays, weekends, and evenings.

We’re looking for experienced, high-energy bar staff to join our evening team!

A successful candidate would demonstrate:

proven experience in the food/hospitality arena within the last 3 years
A good work ethic and service attitude is essential
Previous experience in making cocktails and table service
The desire to learn more about making a Stray’s coffee
Responsibilities would include making cocktails to our recipes, table service, cleaning/clearing, making coffees, using ePos, dishwashing, taking phone orders, private functions
available during the day, evenings and/or weekends

Notes:

Up to 32 hours per week contracted, working a flexible rota to cover the busier parts of the day, with paid overtime up to 42 hours.

We’re recruiting for another Barista to join the Newark team.

A successful candidate would demonstrate:

proven experience in the food/hospitality arena within the last 3 years
A good work ethic and service attitude is essential
Previous experience with making artisan coffees, but also the ability to learn new skills within this role
The desire to learn more about making a Stray’s coffee
Responsibilities would include table service, cleaning/clearing, making coffees, using ePos, dishwashing, taking phone orders, private functions
available during the day, evenings and/or weekends

Notes:

Persons wishing to seek employment for short-term (ie Summer) will not be considered
Up to 32 hours per week contracted, working a flexible rota to cover the busier parts of the day, with paid overtime up to 42 hours.
