Neil Hunter studied classical piano and organ at Newcastle Cathedral and since the 1980s has focused on jazz, Latin, fusion and related genres. His range of styles makes him an eclectic and dynamic addition to any jazz group.
Neil built his formidable reputation as a sideman alongside artists such as Tony Kofi and Sonny Bradshaw, working at venues throughout Europe and playing on sessions for UK and US labels.
We first saw Neil play at Stray’s in Newark, back in 2003, with Ian Beestin (drums) and Geoff Pearson (bass) and were blown away. This date sees Neil joined by Dan Johnson (guitar), Si Potts (drums) and Mat Short (bass guitar).
