Pat McCarthy is a musician who needs no introduction.
Last time we saw Pat at Stray’s, was back in 2015, when he played alongside Pat Sprakes on our Tapas & Jazz nights.
He has been a pro player since 1981, and had the great good fortune to play with some of the UK’s top musicians, including Alan Barnes, Dave Newton, Jim Mullen, Pete King, Kenny Wheeler, Snake Davis, Tim Kliphuis, Roy Williams, Tina May, Gilad Atzmon, George Melly, Roger Beaujolais, Jim Hart, Digby Fairweather, Enrico Tommaso, The London Mozart Players, Dennis Rollins and Rick Woolgar to name just a few!
Ever self-deprecating, Pat has an instantly recognisable style and sound that makes him an extremely in-demand jazz guitarist. His latest project with vocalist Shannon Reilly and bassist Warren Jolly has received much acclaim, culminating in their album ‘Trouble’.
We’re very much looking forward to sharing Pat with you for this night of jazz standards.
Our headline artists play with the Stray’s House band P.R.S. who are Si Potts (drums), Steve Rodda (geetar) and Stray’s own Mat Short (bass).

HOW IT WORKS:
Doors open at 7:00pm and food is available to order from this time, until 9:00pm. Seats are unallocated, so get in early if you have specific requirements – please note, we always give priority to elderly, single and customers with disabilities.
We want you to have a great night with us! However, one man’s boogie is another man’s dirge, so we operate a minimal talking policy during the performances. We ask you to consider your neighbours in this respect.
The band play two sets, from 8:00pm til 8:45 and then from 9:15 til 10:00+ These times are guides and occasionally run over. If there is a support, they will perform from 7:30pm and/or in the interval.
We offer incentives to buy tickets on the night, to forthcoming gigs and recommend buying these in the interval, to save you waiting at the end of the night.
Lastly, from the staff at Stray’s and the house band, we look forward to seeing you and sharing some fabulous jazz with you…
… from the staff and musical collective at Stray’s Coffee – we couldn’t do this without you!
