Bumblin’ Bees…

The Bumblin’ Bees is the originals project from Rachael Johnson (keys) and Joshua Burke-Martin (Bass) both of whom can be found playing in various bands around Nottingham and throughout the UK.

Coming from two different musical backgrounds, their independent styles blend rather uniquely to create a modern style of jazz that encompasses funk, Latin, swing, and even a bit of reggae. Being an instrumental band they use complex rhythm and and closely interwoven harmony’s to tell a musical story of journeys and places experienced by the two.

Think of the drive of soil and pimp sessions, the tight runs of vulfpeck and the groove of Ezra collective, but from a stripped back intimate duo and you will have an inkling of what’s to come…
